Eriol's Staff back of the sun

The back of the star head on the staff. I scoured hours of anime still looking at Eriol's staff. I thought there was no way the back could be plain, but after finding a couple of different scenes with a plain back on the staff head, I just went with it.

The large disk was made up of two boards, joined together. After the first coat of paint you could really see the seam line, with the metallic gold really showing off the seam. I had to cut a piece of posterboard to fit over the disk and then gave the whole thing a good coating of glue. After a sanding and another coat of paint, you couldn't even tell that it was ever two pieces.
